Dany spends seven years as a redemptress, protecting the small folk and freeing slaves, going to war with entrenched power. Her stated goal as a ruler is to “break the wheel” and restore justice to the downtrodden smallfolk. Then, for no real reason, she becomes a mass murderess, killing the small folk of King’s Landing unnecessarily. You do not treat someone you truly love like that. Jaime Lannister spent seven seasons on a redemption arc, then suddenly uses Brienne like a two-bit whore, throws her away and runs to Cersei’s side. Tyrion is the genius. Faced with the army led by a magical foe who raises the dead to fight for him, where does Tyrion take the women and children to hide? The crypts! You know, where hundreds of dead people are buried. What, did he get a lobotomy while we weren’t looking?
